Trade Hounds Welcomes the TradesLink Team

Hopkinton, MA – As part of its commitment to providing a Digital Home for tradespeople, Trade Hounds announced today that it welcomed the TradesLink team to the Trade Hounds ranks. The founding team from TradesLink, a Canadian construction community, brings deep domain expertise and valuable engineering capacity to Trade Hounds.

“A young, dynamic team that brings institutional knowledge in the trades like no other; it’s very rare that you meet like-minded people with a shared vision that want to disrupt an industry,” shared David Broomhead, Founder & CEO at Trade Hounds.

The TradesLink team is comprised of Mark Kjorlien, Rob Bartko and Sam Beaudoin. As part of this transition, Mark will continue in his capacity as front-end developer, Rob will move from Co-Founder & COO at TradesLink to Product Manager at Trade Hounds, and Sam will shift his focus from Co-Founder & CEO to Business Manager.

“Bringing a team that is passionate about giving tradespeople a digital home and features that make their life, family and career better is a tremendous addition to the Trade Hounds team and our ability to produce software to accomplish this mission,” explained Jon Clark, CTO at Trade Hounds.

The excitement was high as the Canadians met the Trade Hounds team in-person for the first time this week. During a full-week offsite in Hopkinton, MA, the cross-functional groups collaborated on feature improvements and vision alignment, and enjoyed team-building exercises.

“Joining forces with Trade Hounds provides us with an opportunity to execute on our vision – a digital home for tradespeople – with a stronger team, better access to resources, and in a market 10x the size of ours in Canada. We’re going to do great things together,” said Sam Beaudoin, Co-Founder at TradesLink & now Business Manager at Trade Hounds.

The Trade Hounds community application is a blend of traditional and non-traditional community features that empowers workers across numerous skilled trades including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, welders, HVAC and many more. It connects tradespeople with each other to help them showcase their work, discuss their lives and profession, learn about professional opportunities, and share best practices.
